Tracking Team Member Performance

You know it's important to hold your employees accountable for real results. The trouble is, you don't know the right techniques for doing so—and don't have much time to find out.

In Keeping Employees Accountable for Results: Quick Tips for Busy Managers, Brian Cole Miller suggests the following:

  • Don't set targets too far down the road
  • Keep the measurement tool simple
  • Have your staff help create the measurement tools
  • Measure only what the employee controls
  • Give your employees access to the data
